The future?
We’re planning on publishing the works previously on this blog in the form of books. The first book is available both in English original and Dutch translation. A zen music album is also in the works as well as other exciting things on my other blog.

Hi John,
Nice site you have here. I could do with a little more zen, but, alas, it’s in my nature to be only ‘sometimes zenful’.
-Steve
Thanks, Steve.
What a delight it was to have you visit and comment on my site today. I only just created it this morning. And what a delight your site is. I’m glad to have found it. Thank-you!
And thank you.
Thank you, John.
You’re welcome, Tim.
so glad i stumbled across your zen page! i will refer to it often.
Thank you for commenting.
Thanks so much, John.
How did you get the insights in your poems and stories?
You’re welcome. I think the insights come mainly from meditation. And probably reading, too. And life?
Thank you.
And good Zen reads do you recommend?
“Zen Flesh, Zen Bones” by Paul Reps comes to mind.
One more thing, John. Is it okay to share your works with others?
What kind of sharing did you have in mind?
What kinds of sharing are okay and not okay with you?
What I have in mind right now: I just wanted to share the stories and poems in dicussions and conversations, mostly in an informal setting. I would mention that John Weeren wrote them, of course. If you are not comfortable then I wouldn’t do anything, don’t worry.
That sounds like the kind of use I would be happy with.
Anything that takes away my freedom as an author/entrepreneur/publisher, I would not be happy with. Uses like bulk sharing, selling or claiming it as your own would not make me happy. I suggest people contact me if they want to do anything beyond the kind of sharing you described.
I would like to encourage you to post more photos. Your photos are as awesome as your poetry.
Thank you for a great suggestion. I’ll see what I can do.
Thanks for blogging!
Thanks for visiting.
I learned, at some point in my journey, that eveything good and all that we need to live an enlightened life – beneficial to others and self – already exists within. I learned we only need to have love and a desire to find personal truth to recognize it. I learned we have to be truly patient with others and ourselves. I found the value of being kind and understanding with the recognition we learn many lessons through failure and most by repetition. Sadly, I get caught up in things sometimes and forget theses simple truths. I enjoy your blog immensely because it is a gentle reminder to just let go of the self-imposed mess and re-connect to just experiencing each breath with joy, being fully present in each moment, appreciating each person for the miracle they are . Thanks for continuing to post.
Peace,
Dana
Thank you for your beautiful comment. Glad to hear you enjoy my blog. Peace.
Hi John! You have a wonderful blog! I subscribe!
Hello Nishant. Thank you for your kind comment. Hope you will enjoy your subscription.
As an amateur zen student (we all are, really) I found your blog enlightening. It’s good to take time from life and step back to think about it all, once in a while. Very inspiring blog!
I’m happy to hear that. Hope you keep writing on your blog.
I like this blog — very much.
Glad to hear that.
It is a pleasure to meet you I loom forward to reading more of your writing.
Nice of you to drop by. I’m sure you’ll find enough here to keep you busy.
Seems you signed up to follow my blog at the same moment I signed up to this one. Must be a Zen thing! Thanks for visiting me.
You’re welcome and thank you too.
John – I enjoy your blog very much as I continue my journey. Don’t tell anyone but,yes I have nominated you for the very inspiring blogger award. I know you do not focus on these sort of things, but your site is an inspiration for me and others.
Peace and keep writing. We are reading.
- Michael
Hi, Michael. I appreciate the nomination and your kind words. Thanks.
Hello John – Thanks for checking out my haiku a day blog. Some of my haiku attempt zen, others are just commentary on my day. Either way it’s been zen to do one every single day!! I often do a painting a day to match or pull from past paintings. I like your poems!
Cheers,
Beverly
Thanks, Beverly. Loved your painting of the swallow.
John – I know you do not want awards, which is fine, but before you throw your hands up in horror just jump to the last phrase below …
I have been visited by an award which was touching and have passed it on to you; if you would like to share the love visit: http://mlewisredford.wordpress.com/2012/10/16/one-lovely-blog-award/ and mirror whatever seems to be happening there in your own eyes and words; if you don’t want to participate in the mexican-pink ritual that is also fine – just know that your being has been loved
@m lewis redford – Thank you for this beautiful award and your kindness. I really do appreciate the awards but feel it would eat up too much of my time “accepting” them, with the requirements and all, you know?
